Welcome toTHRIVING UNITED |
There are many challenges in the journey to recovery from substance use disorder. A recovery specialist, or mentor, is someone who has lived experience in recovery and can help guide you along the way. |
We offer many people who are affected by addiction a safe place to come and get resources for free! These resources are:
COMPUTER LAB - where someone can write a resume, job search, obtain ID or any other things that are needed to become a productive member of society)
GIVE IT FORWARD CLOSET - There are many people starting their path into recovery with little or nothing. We have a huge room with donated clothes that we give to those in need. Thriving United also has a huge storage with beds, furniture, and anything to help those people in need!
MEETING ROOM - for recovery oriented meetings. Currently there are 20 meetings a week held at our Center and 5 held at Angel Haven!
MEDIATION ROOM - for those wanting to have some quiet time and to center. We also have a group mediation 2x a week!
PEER SUPPORTIVE SERVICES- We have been where you have been, it is tough!! We offer peer services to help navigate the 900 non profits in the Permian Basin in order to obtain services and resources.
PEER SUPPORTIVE HOUSING - We have a Peer supportive recovery home, named Angel Haven. It currently houses up to 6 women and their children! We are in the planning stages of our PEER SUPPORTIVE RECOVRY VILLAGE!
RECOVERY CAFE - A place where people can get a snack, drink a soda, play pool, work on homework, or just have a safe place to relax!
One of the things we do is offer support if one of our many partners in the area cannot financially help, we offer benevolence, and scholarships to treatment and counseling.
Peer support is the connection of persons with lived experience in recovery to persons seeking to achieve or sustain recovery. Science has shown that social support is vital in building the resources to sustain recovery. Peer support can come in several forms, one-on-one, groups, direct, indirect, etc. Peer Support services provided at The Thriving United Center for individuals to build strengths and resources to sustain recovery. A person seeking to achieve or sustain recovery may work with a specialist either one-on-one or in groups. Specialists are available on a provisional basis at our community center Mon-Fri 9am-5pm. Groups occur throughout the week at times listed on our schedule. Formal paired coaching connections may emerge from these. If you are interested in peer support or have questions please drop by our center at 501 N. Loraine, or send us an email, or call 432.701.8678. | Who can participate in Peer Recovery Coaching?
